Dear Friends, Fam, and Farfignewtons,
Gahl here. I know there's been radio silence for a little while; my recent move to Chicago has forced my attention, at least momentarily, towards less artistic pursuits (e.g.: buying furniture, searching for a job while I do the grad school thing this year). Anyhow, for those of you looking to purchase a book for yourself or a loved one this holiday season, I'm pleased to announce that my publisher Red Beard Press has just launched a new online store which will be significantly prettier more intuitive to use than the previous online ordering mechanism. You can check it out here, or look at the updated link at the "Buy the Book Page" tab.
Happy Holidays,
Gahl Liberzon

The Back To School Bodies Video Series
Dear Students, Teachers, Writers and Readers,
Gahl here, back from my summer vacation/figure-out-my-life sabbatical. I've moved to the Windy City of Chicago, and am currently enrolled in Concordia University's first ever Spoken Word Education program. As a result, I'll probably be doing more readings in and around Chicagoland, and hopefully absorbing some of the city's famed work ethic.
To make the start of my life here a little more auspicious, kick things off, and welcome students young and old back to school, I've added a new section to the website labeled "Videos" where you can see movies of individual poem performances (check the tabs at the top, it should be the rightmost tab).
To give everybody a taste, I've uploaded a poem from Homegrown 2011, but we're far from done. I'm pleased to announce the Back to School Bodies Video Series is about to drop, this Sunday the 15th of September! That's right, the much talked about high definition footage of the NZ Bodies Bodies Bodies Bodies Bodies book release this past February has been edited, mixed and mastered, screwed, chopped, and stir fried with onions and a red wine reduction, and is now ready for public consumption. I'll be releasing one poem video a week, so check back each Sunday at 4pm for the latest hotness as it drops in time for high tea.
Don't call it a comeback,
Gahl

Upcoming Reading: Literati Bookstore (Ann Arbor) 5/24
Dear Ace-Deuce Originals,
Remember that little post I did back in the day on Ann Arbor's swankiest new bookstore, Literati? Well, as it turns out they've invited me to come and do a reading, which I'm excited to announce will be this Friday, the 24th at 8pm, and totally free. Also, because I love sharing the stage with greats, I invited long time friends and fellow poets Aimée Lê and Haley Patail to come open for me. They're both phenomenal poets who have each coauthored the phenomenal poetry collections Feral Citizens and Electric Bite Women, respectively, and Aimée is actually quite experienced at opening for me, having done it back when I released my first chapbook of poems "Confessions of a Teenage Teenager" (I have since, thankfully, grown out of my long title phase :-P ). If you wanna check the facebook event, click here. See you Friday,
Gahl

Literati & Online Books Now Available!
Dear friends, poets, and interested patrons,
I been getting a fair deal of text messages, facebook posts, emails, and enthusiastic hollers from the street asking "Gahl! Where can I buy your book?" or "Gahl! How much are dance lessons?" While I can't help for the second question as of current, I am pleased to report that there are two new snazzy ways to buy my book, besides simply coming up to me with cash in hand and hoping for the best.
1. Buy it online! For those of you in Chicago or the greater not-Ann-Arbor area that would like to purchase a book online and have it shipped to you, you can do so by clicking here. You can also arrange to pick it up at the Neutral Zone if you have the means and want to cut out the shipping & handling costs by clicking here.
2. Buy it in person at Ann Arbor's hottest new independent bookstore, Literati!
That's right folks, I'm pleased to announce that my books will be available for sale at this cool little book h(e)aven on Washington and Fourth, and I hope to be doing a reading there sometime soon. You can always find them in the Poetry section, but I've been snooping around and have found copies moved from prominent hotspot to prominent hotspot, including:

the local author wall nook,
The Selected Poetry, Memoir, and Essay Table, and most recently
In the company of champions.
So stop by and check them out! I met the owners, and they're fantastic people, as are all the employees I've made the pleasure of acquainting. Not only that but the spot is beautiful (floor to ceiling windows where there aren't floor to ceiling bookshelves), and while I may be a little biased w/ respect to their poetry, I can say without qualification that their selection of fiction, memoir, and essay is on point and should not be overlooked.
Happy bookshopping,
Gahl

I've Been Published!
Dear all,
I'm pleased to report that a poem of mine (The American Boy, which is believe it or not, in my new book Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, Bodies) has been published the second issue of The Museum of Americana! This whiz-bang lit mag celebrates, interrogates, examines and shoots into your face "fiction, poetry, nonfiction, photography, and artwork that revives or repurposes the old, the dying, the forgotten, or the almost entirely unknown aspects of Americana. It is published purely out of fascination with the big, weird, wildly contradictory collage that is our nation’s cultural history" (from the about page).
This is also quite exciting for me, since it's the first online literary journal I've ever been published in.
If you want to check it out click here.
Patriotically yours,
Gahl
