Dear Friends, Fans, and Strangers,
It has recently come to my attention that some people have still been looking at this website, despite the fact that I hadn't updated it since 2013. Well, that's my bad– I've been busy with other parts of my life, and insofar as my writing and performance have received acclaim and been worth promoting, I've found that a simple facebook artist's page works just as well and are on the back end a little easier to manage.
HOWEVER! Since recently I've been submitting and publishing more work online with all manner of neat individuals I've never met, I feel it might be incumbent on me to provide a way for these curious individuals to reach my work without necessarily facebook stalking me. So, too that end, I've made three slight changes to the website:
1. My bio is now updated– Hurray!
2. The Upcoming Events page has been deleted– the widget never quite worked, and also after the tour this summer (this I'll explain more in another post), I will be moving to Japan (this I'll also explain in another another post), so readings may be a little less frequent than my current average of roughly 3-4 a year.
3. There is now a Poems page– here you can find all the poems (so far) that I've managed to publish in online journals. I'll update this as often as I get new publications, likely with a post to match for each, but for now I'll only mention the most recent publication:
The Rose Red Review
This fancy fabulist journal is repository for art that deals with magical realism, fairy tales, and other things dealing with death, rebirth, and transformation. If you're into the poetry of Brigit Pegeen Kelly, the book Confessions of an Ugly Step-Sister, or just using the buzzword adjective "witchy" to describe things, you should definitely check this litmag out.
Belatedly and Publicatedly,
Gahl
