Upcoming Show: TeaHaus 11/24

Dear friends, family, and other turkey eaters,

For those who are in Ann Arbor this upcoming thanksgiving, my spoken word troupe WordWorks is going to put on a small show that weekend, both to give our own thanks for the city of Ann Arbor for nourishing us both physically and artistically, and to collect canned/packaged food for those in need (no point in stuffing ourselves if we can't even feed the all the hungry, right?). The show is called Townie Poems, and it's going to be at TeaHaus, Ann Arbor's locally owned looseleaf tea boutique, on Saturday the 24th at 7:00pm.  All cash proceeds will go to Wordworks future projects, and all canned and packaged food will go to Food Gatherers, a "food rescue program" that collects and distributes food to emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, and other non-profits serving communities in need. You can check out the facebook event page for more info on the event itself and food donation guidelines, as well as how to RSVP, or you can simply peep out the flier (reproduced below).
PS: Big Thanks to all who participated in the Great Write Off and especially those who suppported me in the 5-10-15 challenge– We made it! Over $150 was raised in my name (over $3,000 raised for the Neutral Zone in total), and as a result Jeff will now pay for me to submit a manuscript to the Yale Series of Younger Poets Competition. Let's keep our fingers crossed his generous subsidy is not for naught!

Happy Early Turkey Day,
Gahl
